Great post! The “idea of making things and sharing them without being attached to the outcome” might be easier if the notion was started earlier in life. This immediately reminded me of all of the well defined (constricting) art projects done in elementary school by my kids (who enjoyed some but not all of them). “Here’s some stuff… make something” has always been the more enjoyable path in our house. And the interesting observation that came out of this freedom was that my kids often ended their product very differently from their own initial vision. In process idea streams are so powerfully rewarding.
