Many, many moons ago I auto-added my Mom and my wife to this newsletter and hoped beyond hope I’d add a few more without belly flopping into nothingness. The growth of Drawing a Blank has truly surprised me and I’m eternally grateful to all of you.
Thanks for the reintroduction Jacob! I’ve seen your work around but it’s really cool to get to know about the creator behind it - looking forward to reading your blog !
Holy crap, Jacob!! Your growth is incredible and inspirational. Seriously way to go -- and I'm not surprised at all because your posts are fun and informative. Cheering you on in 2025!
Thanks, Rachel. It’s made the balancing act worth it. Trying to keep this as a side thing while focused on book stuff is hard at times. Connections with folks makes it all worthwhile! Appreciate you!
Just chiming in to say it doesn’t help a little, you and Drawing a Blank help a whole lot. Example: after reading this post first thing this morning as I was composing a thank you comment I became very distracted and ended up spending the day down the rabbit hole of finally activating the publish function on my Substack account. No posts yet (so don’t go look) but it’s the first step in a promise I made a few months ago. So thank you, thank you for the help in doing the thing 🤗
Thank you, Valerie! I’m super happy to hear that. If you have a topic or a question I’m always on the lookout for ways to improve my paid subscription offering. Rooting you on! Cheers!
Hi Jake…. It’s me…. Your MOM. I still think everything you do is fantastic. You just keep getting better. ❤️
I can’t even put into words how much your support has meant you know like my whole life.. and career. It’s impossible. ❤️
🥹😭💗
This is a beautiful reintroduction. Thanks for bringing a smile into it all.
Thanks, Kato!

Same, Eliza! Someday, hopefully in person at a kidlit thing.
