One of the most awful feelings an artist can have is the nagging feeling that you’re not on the right path.

This art-life is a slog and can be dripping with wrong turns and self-doubt. I know because I’ve survived it (so far).

“Didn’t I already see that door of missed opportunity?” “I swear I’ve seen that cactus of despair before?” “The bus driver of this struggle bus is surely drunk with no map.”

I have no way of knowing this for sure, but I’d bet that this feeling of being adrift is responsible for many careers in creating ending way too soon.
